Pane of Death

Glassblower Emmeline Dowell finds herself accused of murder after a priceless stained glass collection is stolen and the owner is killed. And since the police chief is also her boyfriend, she needs to crack the case fast—before their relationship is permanently shattered.

When a very rich business man hires Em to work on his glass collection she is beside herself with joy. It's a dream project. However, when he turns up dead, her life shatters like the glass projects that she makes. When a competitor accuses Em of the murder, she must then put her relationship on hold - the one with the police chief who is now investigating her for the murder. And no matter how many times she's told to stay out of it, she won't just sit back and let others think she's a murderer. This is the second book in the Glassblowing mystery and I think there is huge progress since the first. While I enjoyed the first, I thought there was too much detail in the explanation of glassblowing. This time the focus is more on the murder and Em's desire to solve it. The characters continue to grow and find themselves. A fun and easy read. A-
