Traveling Through Tuesday

Do you like to read books that set in a certain city, state, or country? Do you ever find a town in a book that just calls your name and you can't wait to tell someone about it? Well Traveling Through Tuesday is a weekly event where we spotlight the location of the book we are currently reading!

I'm about halfway through The Panic Zone by Rick Mofina and can't wait to finish it. Talk about taking you on a trip around the world! We start off in Wyoming where Emma, Joe and their son Tyler are headed for a picnic when oncoming car swerves in front of them, causing them to crash and killing Joe & Tyler. Or did they? We are then on our way to Brazil where reporter Jack Gannon goes to cover the cafe bombing where two of his WPA associates are killed among others. Was it a drug related bombing or a way to get rid of an informant the reporters were going to meet? And what does a "mad" scientist, a young child and a cruise ship returning from a south Caribbean cruise have in common? And could it be possible that all THREE of these events are related? From the mean streets of Brazil's favela neighborhoods to the tranquil life in Wyoming to Lybia, Africa, China, London and more, the Panic Zone is a book that will take you to just about any destination you want!

Traveling Through Tuesday

Do you like to read books that set in a certain city, state, or country? Do you ever find a town in a book that just calls your name and you can't wait to tell someone about it?

Well here is the place to spotlight the book we are currently reading with my new meme Traveling Through Tuesday.

I love to read books that are set in around Boston as that's where I live. I love being able to visualize the settings in a book and being able to "place" myself right there with the characters. So, anytime I discover a book is set there, it makes me want to read it that much more. Books like The Gourmet Girls series by Susan Conant & Jessica Conant-Park, Truly, Madly by Heather Webber, and the Frank Clevenger series by Keith Ablow are a few that come to mind that are set in Boston. Do you have a favorite book set in Beantown?

What are your favorite settings in books? What location would you love to visit?

A huge thank you to Jen over at Crazy For Books for this wonderful NEW meme idea!

Town In a Blueberry Jam (CANDY HOLLIDAY MYSTERY) by B.B. Haywood

Welcome to the quaint, but fictional, seaside village of Cape Willington, Maine. Candy Holliday has moved here to help her father run Blueberry Acres farm. All of Cape Willington is getting ready for the Annual Blueberry Festival set right in the heart of what could be considered Main Street, Anywhere U.S.A. This book has it all, the hominess of a small time and the warmth of an ocean breeze on a beautiful summer day. Cape Willington is definitely a place I'd like to visit.
